About Us

BTR Energy is a mission driven company created by people passionate about American energy.

Our mission is to increase the production of renewable electricity on farms across the country.

Bridge to Renewables (BTR) is a public benefit company created to increase the production of domestic renewable electricity while simultaneously accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles.

We believe that robust growth in the domestic renewable energy and EV industries will create millions of new, permanent jobs in the United States over the next decade and bring us closer to true energy independence. Together, the EV and biogas industries in particular can: support our rural economies; protect our natural resources; and, improve the way we manage waste.

On that basis, and in conjunction with industry and government partners, we develop solutions designed to make renewable electricity more competitive and EVs more affordable and accessible for consumers, businesses, and municipalities. Our team is driven by a set of principles that guide our decisions and influence the products we create and the services we provide.

the public good

The public good always comes first. As a benefit company, we don't measure success with an income statement but instead care principally about the communities we serve.

Real collaboration

BTR will never operate as a black-box. Our solutions are created through meaningful collaboration with our partners; we bring together diverse stakeholders to create industry standards and to coordinate to effectively advance our goals.

equity

We pursue opportunities in a way that works for everyone. “A rising tide lifts all boats” is more than an aphorism at BTR, it’s an underlying goal for everything we do.

  • “Dairy farmers in Wisconsin, for example -- who have suffered from trade disputes and falling electricity prices -- could significantly benefit from BTR's program. We aim to provide a new revenue stream for farmers that use waste to create electricity.”

  • "BTR is completely aligned with the US EPA's dual pro-growth, pro-environment mandate. Our focus now is to help EPA use the tools in its toolbox to give farmers the option to use anaerobic digestion to manage animal and food wastes in an economically compelling way."

    Jack Barrow

    BTR co-founder
  • “Turning waste products, like animal manure, into renewable electricity is a logical and worthwhile pursuit. The anaerobic digestion industry is ripe for development: BTR and its partners are ready to invest in projects that could support 11,000 permanent jobs in rural economies across the United States."
